In an effort to reduce energy consumption in their respective areas, both Broward and Miami-Dade County are introducing the Florida Energy Sense Appliance Rebate Program. Residents of both counties are eligible to take advantage of the South Florida appliance rebate program which will encourage homeowners to replace old appliances with new, energy efficient appliances. The program requires residents to recycle their older appliances to receive the Miami-Dade and Broward energy rebates. Both homeowners and renters are eligible to receive one rebate of up to $350 in exchange for purchasing a new Energy Star refrigerator or Energy Star washer. Potential buyers must first pre-register for the Broward and Miami-Dade appliance rebate program by submitting an application between September 26 and October 10.
